We want to completely change the fibre network in London (and beyond), and we’re on the hunt for smart, talented people to join us.
At Vorboss, we do the right thing—no matter what. Our unwavering focus on engineering excellence and unrivalled commitment to customer service is trusted by the most important organisations across the UK and Europe in the technology, pharmaceutical, financial, and e-commerce industries.
We’re proud to have earned one of the best reputations in the industry, and it is essential to us that we maintain that reputation as we grow. Our team is tight knit and highly talented. We trust each other to do the right thing, take responsibility, and be a champion for our collective success.
We’re looking for talented, smart people to join us as we embark on this exciting period of growth. Our vision for Vorboss is to be ‘the best job that someone ever had’, regardless of how long they stay with us, and promise to provide a supportive workplace based on respect and trust.

Role overview:
We're looking for an experienced installation specialist who can bring structure, training, and genuine quality control to a large and growing team.
This is a quality and standards role sitting within our SHEQ function, reporting to the Head of SHEQ. You will be the authority on how installations are carried out - not the fibre itself, but everything around it: containment, tray work, cable management, penetrations, working in complex or heritage buildings, and the finish and presentation of the work.
We have a large and growing team of installers who are technically strong on fibre but who need structured guidance, training, and a clear quality standard to work to. You will build that standard, embed it, and hold the team to it.
This is a "muddy boots" role. You will be on site regularly - problem-solving, training, and signing off work. You will also need to engage confidently with building managers and landlords when questions come up about method, safety, or building fabric, but your credibility comes from knowing the work, not from a desk.
Key responsibilities:
(Please note that this list is not exhaustive)
· Define and maintain Vorboss installation quality standards, covering all elements of physical installation: containment, tray work, trunking, conduit, cable routing, fire stopping, penetrations, and general site presentation
· Sign off completed installations against those standards, and clearly identify any remedial work required before sign-off is granted
· Be the first point of contact for installation teams when they encounter unusual or complex situations on site - old buildings, restricted access, heritage constraints, awkward routes
· Go to site for complex or non-standard installs to provide direct support and problem-solving
· Build a structured training and competency framework for the installation team, and deliver or coordinate hands-on training
· Represent Vorboss professionally to building managers, landlords, and facilities teams - particularly where installation work raises questions about method, safety, or building fabric
· Work closely with the Head of SHEQ to ensure installation practices align with CDM regulations, relevant codes of practice, and Vorboss health and safety standards
· Feed quality and competency insights back into operational planning, highlighting where team development or process changes are needed. You will manage, implement, monitor, and control the quality of Vorboss fibre installations
The right candidate:
· A trade or construction background with strong practical knowledge of building installation work - we would expect this to be an electrician, M&E engineer, building services engineer, or similar; fibre experience is welcome but not required
· Direct experience of containment and cable management work: tray, trunking, conduit, raised floors, risers, and service penetrations
· Experience working in occupied commercial buildings, including older or heritage stock where working methods need to be adapted
· Able to have a straightforward, professional conversation with a building manager or landlord when it's needed - but this is not a client-facing role and we're not looking for a suit
· A genuine commitment to quality, with the patience and communication skills to bring a large team along with you - this is about training and culture, not just inspection
· Familiar with CDM and relevant codes of practice; experience with BS EN 50174 or similar standards is useful but not essential
· Some experience in a quality, supervisory, or training role, either formally or informally
Benefits:
We believe in taking care of our staff both mentally and physically and in order to support this we offer a range of benefits that you can access.
· Employee Share Plan
· Company pension scheme.
· Bonus scheme.
· 25 days of annual leave allowance that increases with years served (excluding bank holidays).
· Private Healthcare.
· Life assurance.
· Income Protection.
· Access to Spill, our mental health support partner.
· Cycle to work scheme.
· Half price gym memberships through the healthcare provider.
· Free eye test.
· Travel loan.
· Hastee app, to help manage your salary and finances.
Diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities:
We aim to be an equal opportunities employer and we are determined to ensure that no applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of gender, age, disability, religion, belief, sexual orientation, marital status, or race, or is disadvantaged by conditions or requirements which cannot be shown to be justifiable.
We aim to create a working environment free of bullying, harassment, victimisation, and unlawful discrimination, promoting dignity and respect for all, and where individual differences and the contributions of all staff are recognised and valued.
This commitment includes training managers and all other employees about their rights and responsibilities under the equality, diversity, and inclusion policy. Responsibilities include staff conducting themselves to help the organisation provide equal opportunities in employment, and prevent bullying, harassment, victimisation, and unlawful discrimination.
Vorboss promotes step-free access at our main headquarters, whilst taking into consideration physical barriers employees might face across all other sites.
