Role overview:

Vorboss requires someone with a high degree of technical competence who can design and implement new security functions and own the hands-on management of security systems. This role is suited to a candidate with a technical engineering background as you will be responsible for maintaining and operating our security systems and deploying new security systems. This role demands someone who can work collaboratively with other teams to understand their needs and ensure they are following good security practices. The technical environment at Vorboss is modern and varied. We operate our own high-performance network both across London and more widely, and we have considerable infrastructure as well as significant use of cloud. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge tools and methods in a high-growth setting.

Key responsibilities:

(Please note that this list is not exhaustive)

•    Monitor systems security posture and seek improvements (e.g., vulnerability management) on a continuous basis.

•    Research security weaknesses and vulnerabilities and find ways to counter them.

•    Oversee vulnerability management processes in our IT, Networks and Systems Engineering teams.

•    Provide operational insight to the evaluation and selection of cyber security solutions.

•    Test security infrastructure software and hardware (including virtual) to ensure its effectiveness.

•    Educate and train staff on security best practices.

•    Develop and test playbooks for security processes such as incident response and vulnerability management.

•    Respond to security incidents, leading or assisting in initial response, recovery, remediation and lessons learned as necessary.

•    Develop and maintain security reporting metrics and tools.

•    Participate in security evaluations and risk assessment of vendors and third-party solutions supplied to Vorboss.

•    Assure that good cyber security practice is followed across the business.  

The right candidate:

We recognise and value other related life experiences, transferable skills and those with genuine subject interest and a healthy desire to learn.  

The ideal candidate would also have several of:

•    Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent qualification).

•    Four or more years’ experience in a security operations or related position.

•    Proven experience operating and maintaining security systems.

•    Experience in cyber security operational processes.

•    In-depth knowledge of security protocols and principles.

•    Critical thinking skills and ability to solve complex problems.

•    Attention to detail and an eye for quality.

•    Versatile and adaptable - comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

•    Excellent communication skills.

•    Security certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, CEH or CISM preferred.
