Role Overview

Vorboss is looking for driven and proactive Civils Gangs/ Operatives to join our expanding Civils Engineering division. We are currently taking on both permanent and contract positions, both of which are paid above industry rates. The Civils Gangs/ Operatives will join the exciting team at Vorboss to perform excavations, duct lay, duct repair, chamber construction and general street works within the Vorboss network. They will ensure that they stick to guidelines and procedures and maintain high health and safety standards throughout.

Key Responsibilities:

The Civils Gangs/ Operatives responsibilities will consist of (please note that this is not an exhaustive list):

• To ensure that the safety of colleagues and the public at the centre of everything you and the team do.

• Site set-up including signage, guarding and barrier.

• Clearing blockages.

• Trenching and laying duct.

• Excavations and chamber builds.

• General groundworks and reinstatements.

• A Commitment to health and safety, including compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as the applicable regulations (NRSWA).

• Communicating back to the Civils Manager and planning team on the status of ongoing projects.

Skills & Experience:

• Full UK driver’s license.

• Relevant NRSWA certifications.

• Previous experience working on a Civils team or in Groundworks, with familiarity with all Tools and equipment to undertake such works.

Desirable skills and knowledge:

• Any PIA qualifications (Duct Blockages, Duct Laying, Box building, General Operatives 1 and 2).

• Experience in the telecommunications industry.

• Excellent communication skills.
