Role overview:

We're looking for a full stack engineer who thrives in varied environments and enjoys collaborating with both engineering teams and business stakeholders, and finds it easy to approach problems from both high and low level perspectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Overseeing design, planning, implementation, and support as part of the day-to-day running of a fast-paced agile software development team
  • Managing people and developing their careers through coaching and mentoring
  • Working with the engineering leads group, which involves designing system architecture, fostering new ways of working, strongly influencing our culture, and contributing first-hand to the development of our growing engineering community
  • Engaging with stakeholders to identify business needs, developing those into requirements, and working with a project manager to create prioritized roadmaps

Must-Have Skills:

  • You have previous experience working in an agile software development team
  • You have expertise in TypeScript across the stack, with React experience on the front end
  • You have built and deployed software using containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, IaaC tooling, and public cloud platforms
  • You’re a strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset, always keeping business value front of mind and asking ‘why’ to deeply understand business problems before diving into code
  • You’re a self-starter who can work with a reasonable amount of ambiguity – identifying problems or areas of improvement and making them better without waiting for permission or a fully scoped solution
  • You have experience with both relational and document databases and understand the trade-offs associated with each

Desirable Skills:

  • You have designed, developed, and optimised GraphQL APIs
  • You are familiar with graph databases and their data structures
