Role overview:

We are looking for a driven and proactive individual who will take on the role of Contracts Manager, supporting the Legal Team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in assisting the creation, administration and execution of contracts and supporting internal stakeholders with contract interpretation and risk management.

Key responsibilities:

Responsibilities shall include:

• Drafting and managing contract templates: helping to create contract templates and keep templates up to date as a result of business, legal or regulatory change.

• Creating contracts: helping to draft custom contracts tailored to specific business requirements, based on existing templates.

• Negotiation: participate in negotiations with customers where our Commercial Team may require assistance. Ability to understand, capture and shape decisions relating to pricing, deadlines, deliverables, and other essential aspects of the contract, requiring an understanding of our contracts inside out.

• Reviewing contracts: meticulously review contracts to identify potential inconsistencies, errors or ambiguities.

• Administration: helping with day-to-day tasks of the Legal team, including management of accurate and up to date contract records, filing important notices and documents.

• Contract life cycle management: proactive administration of existing contracts, including contract renewals, amendments and terminations.

• Risk management: assessment and mitigation of potential risks associated with contracts, such as financial risks, legal liabilities, service levels and performance issues. This may involve consulting with legal experts or stakeholders to develop risk management strategies, but will require basic identification of risk through interpretation of contract terms and assisting in disputes.

• Compliance: ensuring that contracts adhere to company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements. Staying informed about changes in regulations that may impact contract terms and conditions.

• Relationship management: building and maintaining strong and positive relationships with our Commercial team and any other stakeholders involved in the contract process. Collaboration with internal stakeholders, including Finance, Operations and Sales to ensure alignment on contract terms and conditions and be a first port of call for basic contract interpretation questions.

The right candidate:

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Educated to degree level.

• More than 5 years of experience as a contract professional or paralegal.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Highly organised and disciplined.

• Meticulous attention to detail.

• Experience using a variety of systems and software (Word and Excel essential)

• Motivated, self-sufficient and driven team player.

• Experience in or willingness to adapt to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

• Experience in basic negotiation of contracts would be an advantage.

• Knowledge and awareness of the relevant statutory and legislative issues relating to commercial contracts would be advantageous.
