Role overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Systems Administrator with biased towards Linux, good knowledge of Windows Server and networking would be beneficial. As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimising our diverse infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of both Linux and Windows-based systems. Additionally, your proficiency in firewall management will contribute to the overall security and stability of our network. Above all we are looking for someone with genuine interest in resolving technical problems.

Key responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows based operating systems.
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize performance and reliability.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Linux and Windows servers, addressing any issues that arise promptly and efficiently.
  • Ensure best practice security measures and access controls are in place.
  • Perform routine system updates, patch management, and vulnerability remediation for both Linux and Windows systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies for Linux and Windows environments.
  • Automate system administration tasks using scripting languages and configuration management tools.
  • Conduct security audits, implement security measures, and proactively address vulnerabilities in both Linux and Windows systems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and end-users, resolving Linux, Windows, and firewall-related issues.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to maintain an up-to-date knowledge base.
  • Respond to security events as may be required, including post-event remediation and lessons-learned reviews.

The right candidate:

  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, Strong proficiency in Linux, and good knowledge of networking, Windows Server, and firewall management.
  • Good familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and networking concepts.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
  • Understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Cloud).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security measures in Linux, Windows environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented mindset and ability to document system configurations and procedures accurately.
