Role Overview

We are looking for a driven and proactive individual to take on the permanent position of Full Stack Software Engineer.

This is a key role within the System Engineering team, focusing on building internal tools to support our fibre products' lifecycle, along with customer-facing products that make our customer journey an efficient, painless experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Head of Systems Engineering to define and scope project requirements into actionable tasks against a backlog, following an agreed agile methodology
  • Build products and tools that are not only beautiful, efficient, and painless for users but are also well written, and follow industry best practices for usability, accessibility, and cloud-native software development.
  • Help to shape the Systems Engineering team and coach junior members as we scale.
  • To assist in the development of quality control procedures.

Skills & Experience:

  • Loves building things!
  • Has knowledge and experience of all stages of web development across scoping, UI/UX, software engineering following TDD/BDD, and follows best practices concerning lifecycle management.
  • Has experience with building microservices and API’s.
  • Agrees that engineers should own their product’s entire life cycle - no “over the wall” deployment mentality here!
  • Has experience with React or AngularJS.
  • Just as comfortable building prototypes, internal tools, microsevices, and API’s.
  • Is an expert in at least one language with exposure to many others.

Bonus Points

  • You have used GraphQL.
  • You have used Neo4j or a similar graph database.
  • You can explain Event Driven Architecture.
  • You have some exposure to Containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, laaC tooling, and Public cloud Platforms.
  • Your primary language of choice is Javascript, PHP. Python, or Go.
  • You have experience with the Serverless Framework.
  • You have implemented something that touches on IoT.
  • You have implemented something  or worked on with a graph database.
