About the role

We are looking for a driven and proactive individual to take on the permanent position of Lead Software Engineer - Data

This is a key role within the System Engineering team, focusing on building on our proprietary data platform that support our fibre products' lifecycle, utilising cutting-edge industry tech.

Reporting to: Head of Systems Engineering

Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy secure, scalable, and highly available cloud-based infrastructure using modern tools such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and Docker
  • Develop and implement security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and PCI DSS, following a DevSecOps model
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security risks
  • Manage and monitor cloud infrastructure and services to ensure uptime, performance, and availability
  • Automate deployment, testing, and monitoring processes using DevOps tools such as Github, Gitlab, Git, and Ansible
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and scalability in a cloud-native environment
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends related to DevOps and security

Skills & Experience:

The right candidate

  • Has experience working in a cloud native environment across Azure, AWS, GCP, and on-prem private cloud products
  • Knows Kubernetes and containers inside-out
  • Is very comfortable working in a Linux environment
  • Considers themselves a software engineer before an infrastructure engineer
  • Has experience with network protocols
