Role Overview
We are looking for a driven and proactive individual to take on the permanent position of a Senior Fibre Planner. In this role, you will join the rapidly growing Fibre Build team, reporting directly into the Head of Build.
The role will offer exposure to all areas of planning, installation, and delivery, of fibre services in London (and beyond). You will primarily focus on the planning of new builds in and around London, as well as taking ownerships of other special projects, such as network extensions, off-net support, as well as other projects which arise.
You’ll use your prior GIS experience and knowledge of fibre delivery to help guide the Build team, and to deliver the best service to Vorboss customers, as well as stakeholders.
This role will combine office work with moving around London, allowing you to feel the literal impact of your work.
Key Responsibilities:
• To take ownership of the execution and delivery of planning requirements for new builds across London and further afield.
• To focus on the special projects which may arise over time, including but not limited to, network extensions, off-net support, and any other projects which arise.
• To utilise your experience of delivering fibre circuits to assist the wider Build and Installation teams.
• To conduct surveys alongside experienced engineers.
• To create efficient and accurate reports on surveys conducted, presenting back to key members of the team.
• To work to continually improve the Engineering process, procedures, and methods.
• To help upskill other Project Engineers in GIS software and tools, in line with working with increased autonomy on upcoming projects.
• To work across the civils, subduct, and customer connections teams.
• To maintain and update build records and trackers, ensuring the administration involved is continually up to date.
• To take ownership of the coordination and planning of contractor works.
• To coordinate Vorboss field installation teams, and to manage their day-to-day workload. This includes the preparation of construction work packs and all processes involved within this.
Skills & Experience:
• Intermediate to advanced GIS experience.
• Sound knowledge of fibre delivery and end-to-end splicing and testing processes.
• Previous experience with delivering fibre circuits.
• Practical project experience working with technical tools and the ability to communicate though process behind the work.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Fantastic communicator, with the ability to express complex information concisely across the business.
• A self-starter, someone who is going to harness their natural curiosity to contribute to the process and grow with the company.
• To have an interest in project management, and a desire to further develop these skills.
