Role Overview
We are continuing to grow rapidly and to support the next stage of our growth we need Project Engineer’s to lead the planning, build, and provisioning project deliverables for one or multiple programmes of work. The project engineer’s duty is to coordinate the successful completion of project deliverables amongst internal and external project stakeholders. The task objectives are to ensuring project milestones are completed on time, within budget and to the standards and quality set by Vorboss or our clients.
Reporting directly into the Head of Build, you will gain exposure from day one working with senior engineers and other experts in the field. This role will combine office work with moving around London, allowing you to feel the literal impact of your work.
Key Responsibilities:
• To develop and execute a programme of works for a prescribed work stream. This is not limited to, but may include defining a project delivery plan, evaluating contractor capacity, and allocating resources accordingly. During the delivery phase, project milestones will be monitored, and actions taken accordingly to preserve the programmes delivery.
• To liaise with team members to execute on the build plan, whilst taking ownership of the execution and delivery of planning requirements across London and further afield to ensure Vorboss meet all build deliverables.
• To collaborate cross-functionally when undertaking a variety of projects, across both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring professionalism and guidance attributes are always maintained.
• To assist in the development of new processes and procedures across teams, and to be adaptable in a dynamic work environment.
• Act as the primary escalation point for any project deliverables you are responsible for and respond / take action accordingly to mitigate the problems.
• Provide routine updates to project stakeholders by maintaining systems, applications, databases or other, and ensure these are continually kept up to date.
Skills & Experience:
• To have practical project experience working with technical tools and the ability to communicate the process and/ or complex information concisely across the business.
• To have a thorough knowledge of a fibre network build through significant job experience and training on site.
• Previous experience of managing teams and effectively managing their performance.
• Experience of working on the Openreach Network.
• A self-starter, someone who is going to harness their natural curiosity to contribute to the process and grow with the company.
• To have a ‘Can do’ attitude, whilst being accepting of change and changes in priorities.
• To be a creative thinker, and to be able to manage multiple working styles efficiently and effectively.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a multitude of different teams.
• To enjoy working in a hands-on, autonomous role, with a proactive attitude.
• Strong time-management skills and the ability to organise, coordinate and prioritise competing priorities.
• To consistently work with unparalleled attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other office productivity tools, with ability to learn new software and systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• To be a flexible team player, accepting of change, and naturally willing to see things through to completion.
