Role overview:

We are seeking a talented and versatile Product Designer to join our team, reporting into the Head of Systems Engineering.

You will be responsible for creating innovative and user-centred design solutions for our digital products. Your primary focus will be designing seamless and intuitive user experiences that align with our product vision and objectives.

This is a key role within the Systems Engineering team, focusing on building internal tools to support our fibre products lifecycle, along with customer-facing products that make our customer journey an efficient, painless experience.

Key responsibilities:

(Please note that this list is not exhaustive)  

  • Work with the UI/UX Engineer, CIO, and Product Management teams to define and scope project requirements into actionable tasks against a backlog, following an agile methodology  
  • Conducting user research and analysis to gain insights into user needs and behaviours
  • Designing intuitive user interfaces, interaction models, and information architecture
  • Developing visually-compelling designs that align with the brand identity
  • Creating interactive prototypes and conducting usability testing
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the product development process
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of design systems and guidelines
  • Staying updated on industry trends and emerging design practices
  • Collaborating with the Marketing Team and Design, Innovation Team to ensure design consistency

The right candidate:

  • Loves building things!
  • Experience as a Product Designer, showcasing a portfolio of previous work
  • Proficiency in UX/UI design principles and industry-standard design tools
  • Strong visual design skills, including typography, colour theory, and layout design
  • Experience in prototyping, usability testing, and user research methods
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Interaction Design, or a related field preferred  

Bonus points

  • You have experience implementing web application  
  • You have experience building a design system
  • You have experience creating motion graphics
  • You are familiar with Figma
