Role Overview

Vorboss are looking for an innovative individual to assist the Industrial Design Lead with the end-to-end delivery of custom parts, from initial research through to the execution of commercially viable concept designs, and the implementation.

With dedicated support from Engineering resources, your solutions will be deployed into our fully owned fibre network – London’s only purpose-built full coverage network available directly to the end customer. You will work with the Industrial Design Lead to effectively communicate with external suppliers and internal stakeholders, as well as having the exposure to work on multiple projects Cross collaboratively at Vorboss.

Using your previous design experience, as well as your drive for continual development, you will gain exposure to a variety of differing cutting edge design software’s, enabling you to bring your concepts to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To concisely communicate and present your concepts to senior management, as well as other relevant internal stakeholders.
  • To be able to work on multiple projects concurrently along-side the Industrial Design Lead, with the ability to prioritise, and pivot, when required.
  • An ability to develop working 3D CAD Model using Solidworks software.
  • Experience with using Keyshot to create photorealistic renders.
  • To be able to produce 3D / 2D Technical Data Packages to share with external suppliers and internally.
  • To assist the Industrial Design Lead with building low fidelity test rigs and prototypes.

Skills & Experience:

  • You have previous experience working with fabricators, and knowledge of fabrication processes to inform design development, evolution and scaling based on requirements.
  • To have at least 3 years of proven experience as an Industrial Designer or Product Designer.
  • Qualified to degree level in either PhD, MSc, MA, Meng, BA, BEng or Bsc Product Design or Industrial Design.
  • You have strong proficiency with using the following software’s: Solidworks and Rhino.
  • You can sketch proficiently with digital sketching software (Sketchbook) or similar.
  • Strong proficiency with Keyshot.
  • You are skilled in using Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar.
  • Able to clearly understand manufacturing processes including phototyping, small batch, fabrication, and mass manufacture.
  • Excellent freehand sketching and presentation skills.
  • You must have experience in qualitative research techniques.

Specific Requirements
